STATE INFORMATION HUB
It is important for clinicians to be informed about their state policies and regulations with regard to opioid prescribing. Changes in prescriber status, PDMP requirements, medical marijuana laws, naloxone regulations, and prescribing policies all impact patient care decision-making. Command of this information is made more challenging by dynamic legislative environments in constant flux and variations among states. The CO*RE curriculum includes an extensive State Information Hub, updated quarterly, which allows our faculty to optionally customize their courses.
Here are a few useful online resources for state specific information:
- Overview of State Pain Management and Prescribing Policies
- Drug Overdose Death Data by State
- Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs, NAMSDL
- Medical Marijuana, state status map
- Overview of Naloxone access and Good Samaritan Laws, NPHL
- State Medical Marijuana Laws Map
- Prescription Drug Monitoring Program – Training and Technical Assistance Center
